Beauty of Mathematical Curiousity

Once there was a girl who thought math was pretty, and wanted to program her own games. This is her story.

Unfortunatly for her, one of her setbacks was impatience.

In this story, I lay the groundwork for a brighter tomorrow. I have prepared a basic home for my thoughts, and filled it with bright, cheery colors which hopefully don't look too awful. I have neglected spell checking, but everything looks okay. If I've misspelled something please correct me. I don't approve of careless spelling errors any more than lazy capitalization and punctuation.

The "grow" game is on hold indefinitely. There are a few brief installments I haven't posted about. I may or may not get around to them. Most likely I'll leave it until I've got my blog set up and stable. Already, I don't really remember what changes I made, so I'll end up writing these (theoretical) posts using diff...

The reason? Well, because I'm bored - that's why. I simply cannot for the life of me come up with a concept for game content for a grow game. On the other hand, I've got loads of ideas for RPG games. So, even though it's a ways away yet, I've decided to pursue that goal. I just can't justify trying to make a game I don't even like (not that I don't like grow games, I just don't like any of the extremely lame ones I've come up with).

Hi!
I have discovered that "sjbrown's tutorial" a few days ago and tried to start to apply the concepts (i'd never heard of MVC before) to my own game.
I'm not very good at it, and it makes me pretty crazy sometimes because i want to go too fast... But i remain optimistic because the game demands me that i create it.

So anyway, your stuff is going to be useful to me, you already gave me ideas, thanks!
It's reassuring (and kinda funny, but don't blame me) to see you have the same kind of doubts as i about the whole thing.

Find yourself a good game concept and dive!

(If you're still open for suggestions about concepts for a growth game, you can still ask for ideas...)

Paz.

P.S.: In your introductory text you say "If I've misspelled something please correct me.", so don't be angry if i say i suppose "filled it which bright..." (in the same paragraph) should read "filled it whith bright...".

P.S.2: In your "Chain of Events" sidebar, there are no numbers for me neither (firefox 3)

As you might be able to tell, I stopped writing in this blog just before you posted your comment! I fixed that typo.

I also decided that in order to enjoy blogging, I can't take my blog too seriously, so I'm not going to work any harder to fix things like the numbering on the sidebars

I am also very very glad to hear that someone else is in a similar boat as me.
